HOW TO GROW BLUE IPOMEA FROM SEEDS

Behind the threat of frost has passed, and the soil has warmed up, seeds of morning glory can be sown directly in the garden. Seeds should be started indoors about four to six weeks before the last frost in your area. Morning glory seeds have relatively hard seed coats, so soak them in water overnight or nick them before sowing. Morning glory seeds should be sown about 1 cm deep and given about 15-31 cm. spacing. Once they have reached approximately 15 cm or so in height, you may want to provide some help for the vine to twine around.

CARE FOR BLUE IPOMEA AFTER GERMINATION

You can simply let them spill over the edge of containers planted in hanging baskets. Morning glory plants are also easy to take care of. As soon as they are established, they require very little care. However, the soil should not be too wet. During dry periods, water them once or twice a week. In warmer regions, container plants may need additional watering. Simply remove spent blooms as they fade or all the dead vines after the first killing frost in fall to reduce re-seeding and control unwanted spreading.
