HOW TO GROW PINK COSMOS FROM SEEDS

Plant seeds in seedling trays or small pots with compost, good quality seeds, or sieved seeds. Firm down the compost lightly with a block of wood or with the back of your hand. Seeds should be sown directly on the compost surface, one per cell if possible. Place a small pinch of seeds in each cell, cover with a centimeter-thick layer of compost or vermiculite, moisten the compost with water, and drain. You can place it in a heated propagator or cover it with a plastic bag. As soon as the seedlings have two leaves, transplant them into separate pots.

CARE FOR PINK COSMOS AFTER GERMINATION

The soil does not need to be prepared for Cosmos. Instead, they prefer soil that is not too rich since rich soil will produce more foliage than blooms. They also need soil that drains well. Pink Cosmos flower can tolerate hot, dry weather. They are even drought-tolerant. You can self-sow these plants throughout your garden. Because of these plants' height, staking may sometimes be necessary. Your baby plants can, too, be grown against a fence to provide support. Your Cosmos will produce fewer flowers if you overwater or overfertilize. Keep your plants moist, but not drown them in water.

USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF PINK COSMOS

Pollinators and predator insects pollinate your plants, and managing pests can never be enough in your garden. The beneficial insects attracted to cosmos flowers are lacewings, parasitic wasps, tachinid flies, and hoverflies that pollinate and eat pest insects. The most familiar member of the Cosmos family, Cosmos bipinnatus, is not considered edible. Because it is not harmful to children or pets, it is safe for children and pets to grow around.

Wow! The cosmos flower seeds exceeded my expectations. Not only did they bloom early, but the flowers were large and vibrant.
