HOW TO GROW TOMATOES FROM SEEDS

Fill a container with the seed-starting mix until they are two inches full, and then thoroughly moisten it. Firm the mixture, but please don't compact it. Now, place a few seeds into each small container or each seed starter cell. It is recommended to cover the seed with about 1cm of soil and gently firm it over. The seed and mixture should be watered together. Water can be dripped over the plant using a plant mister or simply dribbling a stream over it. There is not necessary to soak the soil; moisten the top layer. Place the pots on top of a heat mat. The seeds don't need light at this stage. You can cover the pots with plastic kitchen wrap. But remember that when you see the seeds sprout, remove the covering and place the pots in a sunny window.

CARE FOR TOMATOES AFTER GERMINATION

Maintain the soil's moisture but do not let it become saturated. Providing good air circulation reduces the chances of disease problems, such as damping off. Plants on a windowsill should be rotated daily to grow upright instead of leaning toward the light. You should raise the lights as the plants grow, keeping them just a few inches above the plants. Only one seedling should be planted per pot or cell to ensure the strongest, healthiest plants. Fertilizing begins when the second set of true leaves appears. Once or twice a week, apply a water-soluble fertilizer that's been mixed half as much as the recommended rate.

USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF TOMATOES

Tomatoes can be eaten fresh, straight from the vine. Make tomato salad, and also tomato sandwiches are delicious to eat. Cook some homemade tomato soup or juice them. Are you not getting any idea? Make fresh salsa, like home-canned salsa.

Another perfect thing you can make is hot tomato sauce. The antioxidant lycopene is a significant component of tomatoes, and it has been linked to several health benefits, including the prevention of heart illness and cancer. As well as being a great source of vitamin C, potassium, folate, and vitamin K, they are also a good source of fibre and iron.
