HOW TO GROW CHINESE CABBAGE FROM SEEDS

Cool-weather plants like Chinese cabbage bolts and go to seed quickly in hot weather and long days. The seeds can be sown directly in the garden between spring and autumn at temperatures between 7 and 24°C. It would help if you sowed seeds ten centimeters apart and half an inch deep—thin, successful seedlings at 30 to 45 centimeters intervals. Rows should be 45 to 76 centimeters apart. Heat can damage plants, so move them to the shade as soon as the weather warms up.

CARE AFTER GERMINATION OF CHINESE CABBAGE

Maintain an even moisture level in the soil so that plants proliferate and remain tender. A slow growth rate will cause the plants to go to seed. Maintain a cool climate when the weather warms up. Make sure Chinese cabbage does not spend more than eight hours in direct sunlight a day. Flea beetles, aphids, and cabbage worms can attack Chinese cabbage. You can handpick or hose off aphids. The spraying of Bacillus thuringiensis is effective for controlling cabbage worms.

CHINESE CABBAGE USAGE AND HEALTH BENEFITS

Raw Chinese cabbages can be served in salads or slaws. When you chop the cabbage into thin strips, you can also add scallions, chili, julienned carrots, or other vegetables. The mixture should be topped with sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. In terms of nutrition, Chinese cabbage contains significantly more vitamins and minerals than regular cabbage. Inflammation can be naturally reduced by eating Chinese cabbage.
