HOW TO SOW PURPLE GLOBE SEEDS

Growing green globe artichokes and purple globe artichokes does not differ significantly. In the same way, we described our green globe; you can apply the same method here. Here is a small detail in some cases. During March and April, seed 13mm deep in a seedbed. Spread two or three seeds in each pot of 3 to 4 inches. Compost-rich soil-based medium should fill up two-thirds of the pot. In each row, sow two to three seeds. Thin to leave the strongest seedling.

CARE AFTER GERMINATION ARTICHOKE

When growing artichokes, be patient. A plant grown from seed will reach maturity in 110-150 days, and a plant grown from the division will reach maturity in 100 days. The majority of plants do not flower until they are two years old. After the harvest has been completed, cut the plants back to an inch or two off the ground for a second harvest. At the plant's base, new sprouts will appear. Planting them too close together can shade small plants because artichoke plants need full sunlight.

KNOW ABOUT PURPLE ARTICHOKE

Raw artichokes retain a much firmer texture and a bitter taste. In addition to softening the texture, cooking also gives it a blender flavor similar to boiled potatoes. Thistle varieties cultivated as food include the globe artichoke, French artichoke, and green artichoke in North America. The edible portion of the plant consists of the flower buds before the flowers come into bloom.
