You can grow Passion Flower from seed easily, but the flower seed can be slow to germinate. You will receive 15 healthy seeds of Passion Flower from Garden Paradise Seeds with growing instructions. It is recommended to soak the flower seed 24 hours before planting, and sow the Passion Flower seeds 1 cm deep in good compost or potting soil. In place of soaking in water. Keep the soil damp, but not too wet. It is best to start Passion Flower seeds in containers. Once Passion Flower seedlings have 4 - 5 leaves, they can be hardened off and transplanted into the garden.
CARE AFTER GERMINATION
Passion Flower plants need to be well watered throughout the summer months, watering infrequently but deeply to encourage deep root growth. During the winter months keep the soil on the dry side so it will go semi-dormant. Must be planted in the well-draining soil mix, equal parts gravel and soil. Grow passion flowers in full sun to partial shade, in well-drained soil in a warm, sheltered spot. Cut back after flowering to keep plants neat, or cut away damaged growth in spring. Most varieties need winter protection. It is possible to grow passion flowers in containers, however, you’ll need to feed and water them more often, and they won’t grow quite as vigorously as those growing in the ground.
