HOW TO GROW PINK COSMOS FROM SEEDS

With compost, high-quality seeds, or sieved seeds, plant seeds in seedling trays or small pots. Compact the compost lightly with a block of wood or with your hands. You can sow seeds instantly on the compost surface, one per cell if possible. A small pinch of seeds should be placed in each cell, covered with a one-centimetre-thick layer of compost or vermiculite, moistened with water, and drained. In a propagator or plastic bag, you can place the plant. Transplant the seedlings into separate pots once they have two leaves.

CARE FOR PINK COSMOS AFTER GERMINATION

It is not necessary to prepare the soil for Cosmos. Rich soil will produce more foliage than blooms, so they prefer not too rich soil. In addition, they need soil that drains well. Hot and dry weather is no problem for cosmos flowers. These plants will self-seed throughout your garden. Because of their height, staking may sometimes be necessary. You can also grow your baby plants against a fence to provide support. Overwatering and overfertilizing will reduce the number of flowers on your Cosmos. You should keep your plants moist but not drown them.

USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF PINK COSMOS

Gardeners should never underestimate the importance of pollinators and predator insects in their gardens. The beneficial insects that pollinate and eat pest insects attracted to cosmos flowers are lacewings, parasitic wasps, tachinid flies, and hoverflies. Cosmos bipinnatus is the most familiar member of the Cosmos family, and it is not edible.
