HOW TO GROW BLUE MORNING GLORY FROM SEEDS

You can start blue morning glory seeds indoors between four and six weeks before your last frost date, but it's not necessary. You can also plant them directly outdoors. Scarification will hasten the germination process for morning glory seeds, which are extremely hard. You can be rubbing them between two parts of coarse sandpaper for a few seconds and then soak them overnight. Spread the seeds about a few inches apart and about a quarter-inch deep. The seeds should be watered well after sprouting, and a moist environment should be maintained.

CARE FOR BLUE MORNING GLORY AFTER GERMINATION

The best soil for morning glory plants is moist but drains well. You can still amend the soil later if the vines appear to be having difficulty. It would help if you watered your morning glories about one inch a week and mulched them around the roots to keep moisture in. You can slow your watering schedule once the plant is established (and in the winter), so it requires less water as it grows. Despite being hardy, early morning glory can survive cold and hot temperatures.

USES AND BENEFITS OF BLUE MORNING GLORY

For centuries, morning glory roots have been used as diuretics and expectorants in Asian and Mesoamerican countries. As a tea brewed from the leaves, herbalists have also used it for headache relief. As well as treating abdominal disorders, fevers, headaches, and much more.
