HOW TO GROW GIANT TOMATO FROM SEED
Seven weeks before transplanting giant tomato seeds into the garden, start the seeds indoors. The seeds should be covered with soil by one to two centimeters. Cover the seeds with firm soil. Don't let the soil dry out. Germination occurs at a soil temperature of 24 degrees celsius. It will take about six to ten days for the seeds to germinate. Seeds must be exposed to at least fifteen hours of light per day once they have sprouted. Once the plants have reached five inches, transplant them into peat pots of six cm. Placing the root ball at the bottom of the pot and filling it with soil will ensure better root growth along the stem.
CARE FOR GIANT TOMATO AFTER GERMINATION
Wait until night temperatures are warm before transplanting. While the fruits are developing, profoundly and regularly water them. It is recommended to give your plants at least one inch of water per week, but they may need more during hot, dry spells. You should give your plants a drink if they appear wilted for most of the day. Watering can be reduced when the fruit begins to ripen. Taking away the water will encourage the plant to concentrate its sugars, resulting in a better flavor. You must not withhold water so much that the plants often wilt and feels stressed, or they will rapidly their blossoms and possibly their fruit.
USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF GIANT TOMATO
The giant tomato is suitable for both raw and cooked applications. Fresh salsa makes good use of their sweet and tangy flavor, and their large size makes them perfect for slices and salads. Sautéed, roasted, smoked, breaded and fried, pickled, or cooked into sauces can also be prepared in these ways. Nutritional tomato products may improve heart health, support bone, skin, and eye health, and have anti-inflammatory effects. Some people may experience acid reflux, joint pain, autoimmune diseases, or allergic reactions due to using these products.
