Basil Italian can be grown easily from seeds. You can sow the seeds from February or May. Basil Italian grows well in small pots, or in fine seedbed. Please cover the basil seeds with fine compost or soil for the best result. It can be grown inside all year around, germination may take 10-15 days, please keep the soil slightly moist. Basil Italian ideally grows above 20 Celsius. Basil seeds can be sown direct outside from late spring, through the summer.


You have to water the little plants regularly. Basil Italian likes to stay moist and requires approximately 1 inch of water every week. Make sure to fertilize lightly because basil is a vigorous grower requiring very little to no fertilization.  And pinch leaves from the tips of your basil as soon as the plant has two sets of true leaves. Basil Italian is a tropical herb, and plants need sun and heat to thrive. Give it a spot that receives six to eight hours of sun daily.


As an herb Italian Basil has a lot of health benefits. Italian Basil that helps prevent acne. It is also an excellent pore cleanser since it contains natural oils that help act as a natural cleanser and remove surplus oil and impurities. Italian Basil also soothes and calms the skin, swelling and pain that may come with acne. If you are a gardener you must have at least one italian basil plant.
