HOW TO GROW AUBERGINE FROM SEEDS
Start Aubergine seeds indoors six to nine weeks before the last frost is expected. It is best to begin them indoors and transplant them outdoors once the weather has warmed up. Soak the eggplant seeds overnight before germinating them. Place the seeds in a small container and cover them completely with water. Drain the water after the seeds have sat overnight. Fill seed trays with loose, fine-textured growing medium. Germinating eggplant seeds in your favourite soilless growing medium will yield the best results. Press 2-3 eggplant seeds in the growing medium with your fingers in each seed container. Cover the seeds with 1cm of soil, mist, or sprinkle water over the seeds.
CARE FOR AUBERGINE AFTER GERMINATION
Relying on the temperature, they are kept at; it can take from five days to two weeks for the seeds to germinate. You can pot up your seedlings into bigger pots when they are about 3 inches tall. It would help if you aimed to finish your aubergine plants in a four-inch pot or larger. It would help keep the potted seedlings indoors until the outdoor temperature reached at least 25 degrees Celsius. For an eggplant to thrive and grow in a garden, it needs very high temperatures. Plant your eggplants in an area with more than six hours of sunlight per day if possible. Eggplant grows best in healthy, well-drained soil. They thrive in a growing environment that gives them space. You can use bamboo sticks or other suitable stakes to hold your plants.
